Gilda's Club Delaware Valley
MMF will be "adding art, color, and a little magic to our children's activities.

With a grant of $5,000, Gilda's Club Delaware Valley will purchase new art supplies, plan an art show and build art therapy into the "str8 talk for teens" and "kid support" curricula, which will be particularly beneficial for the younger children dealing with cancer who need non-verbal skills to express their deep feelings.

DreamYard is the largest arts education provider in the Bronx reaching 8,500 students, K-12th grade annually. The MMF has given $5,000 to the artists in residente program to fund a music teacher for the year. Through year-long residencies, DreamYard artists teach collaboratively with classroom teachers for 90 minutes per week. Disciplines include theater, dance, visual art, film/video, music and Creative writing.
Music Together
MMF is happy to announce thai it will extend its commitment to the Music Together program of Oyster Bay, long Island, New York. This will be the fourth year MMF has given a $1,500 grant to sustain this exceptional program that introduces infants and toddlers (along with their parents or caregivers) to various types of music, songs and instruments. MMF is proud to continue supporting Music Together, free of charge, for underprivileged children at the Oyster Bay Youth & Family Counseling Center.
CHILDREN'S CAUSES
debRA of America MMF is proud to support the "debRA of America" with a grant of $2,500 to aid those affected by Dystrophic Epidermolysis Bullosa. This genetic disease supresses a vital missing protein in the skin's top layer resulting in skin that falls apart, blistering both outside the body and on soft tissue organs inside the body. This agonizing disease requires intensive care from medical professionals and family members. Our grant will support the debRA of America's ability to provide an on-call nurse, a new family outreach program, a financial crisis fund for those in need, a doctor referral network and research to find a cure.
EDUCATION
All Saints Catholic Academy In the spirit of Michael's passion and love for music theory, The Foundation provided a grant in the amount of $5,175 to All Saints Catholic Academy in Bayonne, NJ for the purchase of third and fifth grade music theory texts and accompanying compact discs. Sister Eileen Jude, Principal of All Saints, originally dismayed that "the school budget did not allow much room for funding the music program,"was thrilled to receive the MMF grant stating. "This grant will allow over 100 students at the school to develop an appreciation, knowledge and love of music."
